Giggle Juice

A common term used during prohibition to describe a cocktail, these classic libations break any temperance laws.

 

The Martini

It was the first post-prohibition drink served by FDR in the White House.

Humphrey Bogart's last words, "I should have never switched from Scotch to Martinis.

Gin or Vodka, Dry or Dirty

(For a taste of history try a few dashes of Orange Bitters with your martini)

(For something refreshing, try a Hendricks Gin Martini served with a cucumber slice) -

Manhattan

This truly American drink is one of the few classics made with whiskey rather than clear spirits. This cocktail was invented at New York's Manhattan Club in the last years of the 19th century.

Brandy or Whiskey, Sweet Vermouth, dash cherry juice -

 

Old Fashion

Originally served as a simple whiskey this drink has undergone several revisions allowing one to drink it sweet or unsweetened.

Brandy or Whiskey, Bitters, Soda. Garnish Olive or Fruit -

 

Gimlet

We owe this drink to the British Navy who combined their daily rations of gin with lime juice to stave off boredom and scurvy.

Vodka or Gin, dash Lime Juice. Olive or Lime -

 

Sidecar

The origin of this drink was supposedly traced back to a WWI officer after getting a chilly ride in the sidecar of a motorcycle.

Makers Mark, Cointreau, Sour -

 

Rob Roy

It is not clear of its origin, but was noted in the Esquire Drink Book of 1956.

The Gambler
